5 & 19 Month Update with Product Essentials

I can not believe that Evander is already 5 months old and Gemma is 19 months! It has been a whirlwind getting used to being not only a family of four but a mother to two under two. (That’s a mouthful!) I decided to give everyone a quick update and list out my favorite baby essentials for these ages!

Evander is FIVE MONTHS.

Yes, you read that right.  My baby is already five months old!  He is in the 70th percentile for weight and 90th for height.  We feel like he’s had teething symptoms for almost two months now but has yet to actually cut any teeth.  He can roll onto his stomach and usually does within seconds of being put down.  Van loves to be sitting up and is doing so well.  He can not sit unassisted but does great with a little bit of help.  He already shows so much interested in food and watches enthusiastically when Dallas and I eat.  I can’t wait to get started with baby led weaning again!  Last but not least, the kid will NOT take a pacifier.  It’s the strangest thing to me.  Gemma loved her paci.  However if you try to put one in Evander’s mouth he gags and gets even more mad.  If you just put it in his hand he will either chew on it or throw it.

A year and a half.  Only 5 months from TWO.  She is long and lean registering in the 40th percentile for weight and 70th for height.  She is learning so quickly and understands so much.  However she still prefers to whine and point than using vocabulary.  But she’s getting better everyday!  Sing is her favorite movie and playing with her dried bean sensory bin is her favorite activity other than being outside.  She recently had her first stomach bug but has always been exceptionally healthy.  Because of the stomach bug she threw up all over her pacifiers and we decided to take that as an opportunity to wean her from them.  I was originally not going to worry about it until two years old but the perfect situation just fell into our laps.  She was a lot fussier but overall did really well.  We are now venturing into the uncharted territory of discipline.
